Obituary of Gifford Queener, 1990:
Gifford (G.H.) Queener, 64, of Caryville Rt. 1, died Monday at LaFollette Medical Center. He was the son of the late Charley and Maggie Queener.
Three brothers, Charles, Harvey and David Queener, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Queener was a retired railroad employee of CSX Transportation. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Caryville Lodge 665 F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Wilhoit Queener of Caryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Terry Slover of Lake City; Sandra and Steve Baker of Claxton; grandchildren, Kellie, Nicole, April and Teresa; sisters, Robbie Sue Howard and Beatrice Meredith of LaFollette; Gertie Chasteen of Piedmont, Ala.; and a brother, Bill Queener of LaFollette.
Funeral services will be held tonight (Wednesday) at 8 p.m. at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Lake City with the Rev. Bobby Tadlock officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in New Vasper Cemetery.
