OFFICER, William Robinson, lawyer; born Clay Co., Tenn., June 18, 1872; English-Irish and Welsh descent; son of John Holford and Ida (Chowing) OFFICER; paternal grandparents, William A. and Cynthia (Holoford) OFFICER maternal grandparents Dr. Z. R. and Rebecca (McMillin) CHOWNING; educated in the common schools of Clay and Overton Counties, Tenn.; taught in the public school at a very early age; married Nannie Belle WINDLE, June, 1893; member F. & A. M. and Knight of Pythias; Democrat; was Clerk and Master of Overton Co., Tenn., six years; elected Dist. Atty.-Gen. for the 5th Circuit of Tenn. Aug., 1902, re-elected in Aug., 1910, and is the present incumbent; stockholder and President of Farmers’ bank, Livingston, Tenn., and President and General Counsel Overton Coal & Coke Co., Davidson Co., Tenn.
