This indenture made and entered into on this the 16th day of August 1854 by and between Josiah F. Morford clerk and master of the Chancery Court at McMinnville, Tennessee of the one part and Wm West of the same county and state Witnessed that whereas heretofore to wit by a decree of the Chancery Court at McMinnville Tennessee rendered at the March Term 1851 in the suit in said Court pending between Johnathan McMahan and others heirs at law of Robert Brown dec'd against Robert Isbell and others heirs at law of Robert Brown dec'd the clerk and master was directed to expose to public sale the following described tract of land lying and being in the County of Warren state of Tennessee on both sides of the Barren Fork of Collins River. Beginning at a Hickory ten poles north of the north most corner of an Entry No. 782 in the name of the heirs of Moses Davis running thence west fifty chains to a Black Oak and Hickory near the County road Thence South forty chains to a Black Oak crossing the river at thirty one chains on the ridge on the South side of the river thence east fifty chains to a Black Oak on the line of said Davis thence with it and passing the corner to the Beginning containing two hundred acres and whereas after words to wit on the 16th day of April 1851 the clerk and master after having advertised the time and place as directed sold the same to Wm. West for the sum of fourteen hundred and nine dollars and fifty cents he being the highest and best bidder for the same which amount he has fully paid. Now I Josiah F. Morford clerk and master of the Chancery Court at McMinnville Tennessee by the power and authority in me vested by law do hereby transfer and convey said land above described and every part thereof to have and to hold to him the said Wm West his heirs and assignees forever. In testimony whereof I Josiah F. Morford clerk and master of the Chancery Court at McMinnville do hereunto set my hand and private seal there being no seal of office at office in McMinnville the day and date above.
