PLEASANT HILL CEMETERY
Pleasant Hill is a large, old cemetery in northwestern Henderson County located on Pleasant Hill Cemetery Road. Take 104N to Mt. Gilead Church, turn west, drive about 1 mile and look for the access drive. The cemetery is well maintained.
David Donahue recorded Pleasant Hill Cemetery December 3, 2001 (working on top of an alphabetized version of the 1976 record) and checked and updated it September 24-25, 2004. Mrs. Bobbie Pierce and Zonia Harper recorded this cemetery circa 1976. Their record appears in Henderson County, Tennessee Cemetery Inscriptions (Memphis, R. H. Harris, 1976), Vol. II, pp. 75-91. This earlier work is referred to as "Pierce and Harper" in the notes below. In many cases Pierce and Harper supplied information not on the markers, such as names instead of initials and maiden names of women. This information is included in the notes below. Pierce and Harper noted "at least 100 unmarked graves."
In 1996 Bobby Pierce and Joy Beth Campbell made an annotation for this cemetery which lists parents, spouse(s), and children for many of the people buried in this cemetery.
Joy Beth Campbell provided additional information some people buried in the cemetery including a list of people buried in unmarked graves. This information is integrated unto the list below.
