The “Society” was organized in 1986 to collect and preserve the rich History & Heritage of Morgan County. Many of the records available at present are on microfilm. We also have a large collection of family histories in notebooks and in the vertical files as well as some records from surrounding counties. The Society has a census records, Vintage and collectible 1944 Morgan County Newspapers, and at times other Morgan County books for sale in the Genealogy Room.
We are now located in the Morgan County Archive and Family History Center located in the former Morgan County Jail building on Kingston St. in Wartburg. You are cordially invited to join the “Society” and help us to preserve these priceless Family Histories. If you have a Family History you would like to place in our files, we can also do that.
You are also welcome to just stop by to visit with us.
We are open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 11 am to 3 pm.
