Petition 3-3-1813 to the Tennessee General Assembly

Date:  19 Oct 1813

“Freeholders and inhabitants” of Rogersville, Hawkins County, petitioned the legislature to pass an act “to the effect that said petitioners shall not be obliged to repair roads outside their town.  They are compelled to repair a bridge and the streets of the town, and they feel they should be exempt from working on roads outside of town.  Signed by:
