Lon Smith was born 1904 Wilson Co Tennessee. His parents were killed
in auto accident when he was very young. Holt family took him and
raised him, and I think they adopted him because he took the name
Holt. Does anyone recognize any of this story? Any help at all will be
greatly appreciated. Please email me.

first is described as the Mitchell Cemetary on Hunters Point Pike. My
Great grandfather Robert Alex Mitchell was buried there in 1939. The

Sally Pemberton, b. in Alabama abt 1822 and is listed in 1860 census
for Wilson Cty, Cainsville, Tn. Her daughter, Eliza Jane, b. abt.
1857 in Tn. married my great grandfather, William Burton Stroud.
Sally's husband is not listed in the 1860 census and I do not know
what happened to him or who he was. My mother said her father, Guy
Hunt Stroud, b. 1899 in Gibson, Tn. told her Eliza Jane was a full
blooded American Indian. I am attempting to prove that fact but
really am having little success to this point. Could anyone help. I
believe Eliza Jane was born in Wilson as she was 3yrs old in the 1860
census. Another Pemberton, W. L. Pemberton is also listed at their
residence and I donot know who he was, though probably a brother of
Sally's husband. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rouland Graveyard in Wilson Co. has Morris Brewer (my pa) April 7
1792to mar 21 1866 and My Ma Sally Brewer(Sarah Shannon) consort of
Morris Brewer Feb 15, 1793 to Aug 8 1865. nearby is Mary Jane Brewer
Mar 15 1824 to Aug 26 1841.
In the 1840 census it shows Morris Brewer with 1 daughter and 2 sons.
Next door in 1850 was Rev. Joseph Camper who married Elizabeth A.
Brewer in may 1844 (prob. Morris daughter). But he mentions in his
will a daughter Elizabeth Eveline Brewer. If he only had one daughter
in 1840 and Mary Jane did not die until 1841 and Elizabeth did not
marry until 1844. Were both of these his daughters?? and who were his
2 sons ( I believe that John Westley Brewer who married Emilene
Lannom in 1842 in Wilson co. was his son.
Does anyone have access to records on Rouland Cemetery to recheck
these figures?? and or does anyone know who all of Morris Brewers
children were??

Looking for my ggg grandmother Elizabeth. We are unsure of her
maiden name spelling. Father may have been William OR Robert BRYANT.
Mother may have been a CALHOUN. Elizabeth was born around 1816, and
married Wilson Williamson Marlow around 1834-36. They had four
children: Achsa (1836), James Robert (1838), Pleasant (1841) and
Bethel (1843). She died young around the age of 25-27 shorthly after
the birth of her last child. I am a descendent of Bethel. Bethel
is a strange name. I once saw a William Bethel MARLOW and wondered
if my gg grandfather was named after a this person. We believe that
she and Wilson lived in Tennesse when first married and then moved to
St. Claire Missouri. She died somewhere in Missouri, near St. Claire I
would think. Does anyone have information on this family. I would

John GUNN, Revolutionary War veteran, born about 1760, died in Wilson
Co. in 1840. In his will, he mentions "heirs of my daughter Margaret
Bond". Since there are other major errors in the will, I believe
this is in error and should be "heirs of my daughter Mary Bone". Can
anyone verify this? Seeking any information about John Gunn and his
family.

I am finishing up a study on James ODOM Jr. and all the related
families of this early settler of Wilson County, and the part made
into Cannon County Tennessee. If you have any ties in with this line
I would like to add them to the study. Some names of interest to my
personal lineage are ODOM, CRISP, KOONCE, JARMAN, WHEATLEY / WHITLEY.
Other marriage names include WARD, ORAND, OWEN, WILLARD, FRANCIS,
BOGLE, DILL, HIGGINS, WILSON, DUGGIN, RUTLAND / RUTLEDGE, LAX,
VAUGHN, FITE, PATRICK, and so on. OWEN is especially well
represented. WEBB is also another separate line of personal interest
in Wilson County. These lines were in the area in the 1820s, 30s,
40s, 50s. Later a good many of them had moved elsewhere, including
my family which went to Henderson County, Tennessee, then Ellis
County Texas in 1879. I will answer all replies to this query to the
best of my information. Please remember only the ODOM line
connections are well researched and I may not have much information
of the other lines. Thank you

The spelling varies, we are told the cherokee name is griffin,
griffey is what our ancestors called each other, and that the english
spelling for outsiders is griffith. Rebecca Griffith, daughter of
Jonas Griffin, Griffey, Griffith Jr. married William Stacy sometime
before 1828 when their first son, Silas Scruggs Stacy (Stacey) was
born in Jackson, Co. Tennessee. We are searching for proof of
Rebecca's bloodline, she was rumoured to have been 1/2 cherokee in
blood. We are told from Henry B. Stacey's exit interview
that Rebecca was from "Jones Beer" Tenn, perhaps modernly that was
Jonesborough, in Wilson Co. /

Wills, book 1-13, 1802-1850, his will is shown recorded in Oct. 1819.
In it, Neel leaves as two of his heirs, William and Elizabeth
COMMONS, children of his daughter, Doshia COMMONS. In Lincoln County
deed book G, money is received by Joseph COMMONS, father and guardian
of Elizabeth. Here, the name is spelled NEALE. Other than his will,
I can find nothing about Wiliam NEEL (or NEALE). I find several
NEALs in the county but they seem to have no connection. William's
heirs are listed as his wife, Elizabeth, sons Pallis, William
Matterson, Charles, George, and daughters, Sally BLACK, Sophia BUCK:
William and Elizabeth COMMONS, children of his daughter Doshia
COMMONS. I believe Joseph COMMONS to be my ggggrandfather and it
appears Doshia NEEL COMMONS was his wife, though perhaps a first wife
as only two of Joseph's nine children were named in NEEL'S will,
therefore not my ggggrandmother. Can anyone help me?

been unable to find her in any Kentucky census for 1850. Her middle
