Curd Davis, born 11/10/1802 in Virginia; died 08/11/1887. They attended the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet Tennessee (Wilson Co). They had three sons, Nathaniel G.(1822), William P. (1833), and Richard T.(1843). William and Richard are referenced in the "Goodspeed Histories of Wilson Co. Tenn." Nathaniel Green Davis is my Great-Great-Grandfather. Edmond Word married Asenath Smith in 1826 in Wilson County,Tenn. Their children included Thomas C. Word. Thomas H. Word named his firstborn Sam. There were others named Sam Word in Tennessee. This Sam Word married a Crow Indian woman according to our records, and had children including John Wesley and James Word, who lived in Wilson County,Tenn. John's birth is listed as March 25, 1859. Looking for information regarding the parents of Calvin Kelley (bn-15 Oct 1815 in Wilson County) and Martha Andrews (bn-about 1825 in Tennessee). They were married in Wilson County on 11 January 1844 in Wilson County. Their children were Cullen Houston Kelley (bn- 6 Jan 1845 in Wilson County), Nancy Kelley (bn- about 1847 in Wilson County), Margaret Kelley (bn-about 1847 in Wilson County) and William C. Kelley (bn-3 Jul 1851 in Wilson County). The family moved to Ellis County, Texas in 1852. The 1880 census shows Calvin's father being from North Carolina and his mother from Virginia, Martha's parents were both listed as being from North Carolina. With the time frames involved, the North Carolina locations could have actually been Tennessee. I am researching the name ANGLIN in Wilson Co. TN. Elizabeth Ann ANGLIN was born Feb. 1822 in TN. Family stories tell that Elizabeth Ann ANGLIN first married a gentleman by the name of John SULLIVAN and bore a son named John Riley SULLIVAN. After the father died in March 1842, this child was raised by the SULLIVAN grandparents in KY or TN. Elizabeth Ann SULLIVAN and William DAVIS were married 23 Mar 1844 in Wilson Co TN. In the 1850 Wilson Co TN census, they had the following children: Robert Lee b. 1844, Mary Ellen b. 1845, Fountain b. 1846 and Sara b. 1849. They were in TX by 1853 where Benegeman and James Monroe were born. William DAVIS evidently died in the Civil War and Elizabeth married a man by the name of Hugh WISE in VanZandt Co TX. Also mentioned in the will is James' step-daughter, Mary Holland. James' daughter, Lovy, moved with her husband to Benton Co TN. Daniel MASSEY (abt 1825-bef 1910) married Lavina "Viney," divorced in the 1870s, and married Sarah England. Daniel MASSEY had five children by "Viney": (1) Robert G. (abt 1849) m. Mary Ann COATS; (2) James (abt 1852) m. Sarah Robertson; (3) Margaret (abt 1855); (4) Mary E (abt 1858); (5) Martha J. (abt 1861). Daniel MASSEY had two children by his second marriage: Ella (1882) and William H. (1888). The MASSEY family moved from Wilson Co TN sometime in the 1820s to Benton Co TN. Land records of Wilson Co. include many entries for my Hancock ancestors beginning about 1811 at such locations as Pond Lick, Spring Creek, Round Lick, Barton's Creek, Smith's Fork, Sinking Creek, and Hurricane Creek. Do these places still exist? Can they be identified on a map? On 18 Nov 1815 Benjamin Nichols deeded one acre on Pond Lick for a new Methodist Church. George Avery and John Hancock were Trustees. Both were my gg grandfathers. George Avery's daughter Anna married John Hancock's son Samuel. Would like to hear from anyone interested in Hancock or Avery families.

Blount Co., TN. Searching for the time and place of death of Peter Key, b. 1807/1810, and his wife Avice Greer Hayes (a widow with 2 daughters). I have found another Peter Key, but it is not the same one. Their son (my great-grandfather) & family went from TN to Indian Territory, OK in the fall of 1880. I suspect that they each had died between 1860-1880.
