\nWilliamson Co., then Maury Co., TN. (Maury county was formed
\nfrom Williamson Co. about 1808 or 1809). It has been reported
\nthat Harmon’s first five children were born in or close to a
\ntown known as Rountree Mill, but I haven’t been able to find any
\ninformation regarding this town or settlement.
\nThese first five children are:
\nWilliam, b: 1799, James, b: 1801, John Motley, b: 1806, Johnson,
\nb: 1807, and Sarah (Sallie), b: 1809.
\nThe next three children, born in Maury Co. (Possibly the same
\nlocation as the first five children), are: Charles, b: 1811,
\nAndrew Jackson, b: 1816, and Mary, b: 1818.
\nHarmon and Betsy’s last child, Margaret, was born in Illinois,
\nin 1820.
\nThe next record we have of Harmon was on the 1830 census for
\nTexas, where he was listed as a farmer, from Arkansas.
\nHarmon was preceded in Texas by three of his sons, the first
\nrecord we have indicates James was in Texas in 1816.
\nI have a lot of information on Harmon’s descendants, and their
\nbranches from Texas, but so far have been unable to document any
\ninformation on his siblings, or parents. They have a very rich
\nhistory in Texas, including some genuine early Texas heros.
