I’m looking for the parents of my great-great-grandfather who is John Wooden BURGE (b. 1815, Sussex, VA, d. 1861, Bedford County, TN.) I’m questioning his birthplace because no records can be found to support it. Was he possibly born in Williamson County? On 15 Dec. 1835 in Williamson County, TN. he married Lucinda WINSETT (b. 1817, Williamson County, TN., d. before 1859, father: Jason WINSETT, mother: Ann GLEEN) They had 8 children. They were still living in Williamson County in 1840. By 1858 he had married Mary Wilson WHEELHOUSE in Bedford County, TN. I would also like to know what happened to Lucinda Winsett and their 8 children. They seem to have vanished. I suspect that Lucinda died in Williamson County around 1858, but the identities and whereabouts of their children is a mystery. Thank you for any light you might be able to shed on this brick wall in my ancestry.
