YOUNKIN, Marcus W., Superintendent Paris City Water and Light Plant; born Chariton, Iowa, Oct. 3, 1874; son of Charles and Nancy (NEWCOMER) YOUNKIN; German descent; father’s occupation, merchant; graduated Chariton institutes of learning; married Azelea ADAMS Dec. 24, 1895; for seven years past secretary of Board of Public Works of Paris; after leaving school was superintendent of lighting and water plant at the following places; Chariton, Eldora, Jefferson, Grundy Center, Iowa Falls and Grant Junction, Iowa; moved to Paris in 1903 at solicitation of city officials and was made Superintendent of Paris City Water and Light Plant; rebuilt Paris plant and water plants in other parts of country; member Board of Directors First Methodist church of Paris.
