YATES, Otway, banker; born Westerfield, Ky., July 11, 1885; son of John R. and Nancy (Smith) YATES; English descent; father’s occupation, flour manufacturer at Rochester, Ky.; educated Georgetown College, Georgetown, Ky.; member Masons (scribe in chapter, Capt., General in commandery and Capt. Host in Council); W. O. W., I. O. O. F. and T. O. K. Frat.; after finishing collegiate training entered bank in New Market, Ala., in 1906; 1907 moved to Paris and accepted position with Citizens’ Bank (which afterwards was changed to First National Bank) as cashier; one of the youngest bank cashiers in Tenn.; member First Baptist church of Paris, Tenn.
