Court Clerk, Weakley Co., Tenn., at present farmer; paternal grandparents <strong>Erasmus D. and Mary TANSIL<\/strong>, maternal grandparents <strong>Dr. Pulaski B. and Sarah L. BELL<\/strong>; educated Dresden (Tenn.) public school, Battle Ground Academy, Franklin, Tenn., and Vanderbilt University, graduated from latter B.A., 1900, L.L.B. 1905, M.A. 1906; in early life he taught school; married <strong>Lillian M. SUMMERS<\/strong>, Feb. 12, 1908; member Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and Business Men&#8217;s Club; served as Deputy County Court Clerk of Weakley Co., Tenn., under his father in 1906; proprietor of Vanderbilt University Book Store, 1903-1906; now partner in firm of H.E. Tansil &amp; Co., merchants, Charleston, Miss.; member of M.E.
