O. O. F., Masons, Blue Lodge Chapter and Commandery, Press Club and Cheatham Bivouac, all of Nashville, Tenn.; Democrat; served in Finnegan&#8217;s Florida Brigade last year of civil war; was for ten years Superintendent of Schools, President Mission State Teachers&#8217; Association; author of several books, and Sunday School specialist for more than twenty years; is now Chairman of the Committee on Education of International Sunday School Association; Special Commissioner from World&#8217;s Sunday School Association to the Orient and to Europe; member Southern Methodist Church.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><i>Source: Who\u2019s Who in Tennessee: A Biographical Reference Book of Notable Tennesseans of To-Day<\/i>.
