T. M. and Mary Jane (Rogers) WOOLLEN<\/strong>; father\u2019s occupation, merchant and planter; paternal grandparents <strong>David and Elizabeth (Woollen) WOOLLEN<\/strong>, maternal grandparents <strong>Alexander and Miriam (Crandall) ROGERS<\/strong>; educated at McLemoresville, Tenn, and West Union, Ia., and Nashville, Tenn.; in early life was an accountant; married <strong>Frances HICKS<\/strong>, Feb. 22, 1888; member Business Men\u2019s Club, Chickasaw Guards Club and W. O. W.; Democrat; engaged in mercantile business in Huntingdon, Tenn., in 1878, attended business college, Nashville, Tenn., in 1882, and same year accepted a position as accountant in wholesale grocery company; in 1886 removed to Dyersburg, Tenn., as accountant in general merchandise company, in 1889 was elected assistant cashier of the Citizens\u2019 Bank, Dyersburg, Tenn., remained there 10 years and moved to Memphis to become secretary and treasurer of Phoenix Cotton Oil Co., which position he now holds; member of Cumberland Presbyterian church.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>City: Memphis WOOLLEN, Alexander Rogers, manufacturer and cotton merchant; born McLemoresville, Tenn., April 26, 1861; English descent; son of A.
