(Arbuckle) MCNEES<\/strong>; father\u2019s occupation, farmer and brick manufacturer; paternal grandparents <strong>Richard and Nancy (Johnson) MCNEES<\/strong>, maternal grandfather <strong>Joseph ARBUCKLE<\/strong>, maternal grandmother was a <strong>Miss CLARK <\/strong>prior to her marriage; educated at Brownsville, Tenn.; entered the mercantile business in early life and was given working interest in firm he had previously worked for in 1890; succeeded firm under firm name of Hughes, McNees &amp; Mercer, 1897; sold interest to Hughes &amp; Mercer and entered business for himself in 1900; firm of McNees &amp; West was organized in 1902; bought West\u2019s interest in 1907 and continued business under name of A. R. McNees &amp; Co.; handles Studebaker wagons as companion line with grocery; also cotton and farming implements; married <strong>Clara C.
