(Hansell) SALMON<\/strong>; father&#8217;s occupation physician and government official; educated in the common schools of Tennessee, and graduated at Nashville, Tenn., with degree M.D., 1857-1870; spent several years in California in early life; organized the first military company in the State of Tennessee for the Confederate army, March 10, 1861, and served as captain and surgeon of Company &#8220;C,&#8221; First Tennessee Volunteer Regiment, C.S.A.; married <strong>Harriet C.
