MORRISON, John F., <\/b>lawyer; born at Waynesboro, Tenn., July 14, 1864; son of Merida<\/b> and Lydia (Hardin)<\/b> MORRISON<\/b>; father\u2019s occupation farmer; educated at Clifton, Tenn., Lebanon, O., and Nashville, Tenn.; graduated from National Normal University, Lebanon, B. S. degree 1883;\u00a0 Vanderbilt University, B. A., 1889; L.L. B., 1890; in early life he established, and for a time, edited the \u201cWaynesboro Tribune,\u201d a weekly newspaper; married Eula KEELING<\/b>, May 24, 1896; member F. & A. M., former W. M. of Waynesboro Lodge F. & A. M., and H. P. Waynesboro Chapter R. A. M.; state senator in the Fifty-Fifth General Assembly of the state of Tenn., from Giles, Lawrence and Wayne counties; elected by the people with large majority; secured reduction in railroad passenger rates for home counties while serving as state senator; assisted in the establishment of the Bank of Waynesboro, and was for a time cashier of same; engaged in the practice of law, especially in the Chancery Courts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
