M.F. and Mary Elizabeth (Campbell) HELM<\/strong>; maternal grandparents George Swingle and Jane (Harrison) ECKEL<\/strong>; educated Maury Academy, Dandridge, Tenn.; graduated from Fair Forest Academy in 1893; began business career in architect’s office, and then entered the mantel business, in which he is still actively engaged as President, King Mantel Co.; purchased large holdings in Knoxville Knitting Mills Co., in 1903, in which he continues to be interested as director and one of largest stockholders; Director in Union Bank, Knoxville, Tenn, since 1906, First Vice President Appalachian Exposition Co., 1910; actively engaged in real estate; Secretary and Treasurer Cumberland Property Co.; married Katherine J.
