(Past Eminent Commander: Past High Priest); member Appalachian Club (Elkmont, Tenn); Past Regent of Royal Arcanum of Tenn. (Chilhowee Council), Master’s Lodge No. 244 of Knoxville; elected Judge of Knoxville City Court 1909-1912; Chief of Knoxville Police Dept. 1906-1909; Major of 3rd Tenn. State Guards 1901-1903; entered newspaper work as city editor and managing editor of Knoxville Tribune; later telegraph and city editor of Knoxville Sentinel; one of Commissioners of East Tenn., who erected Centennial building at Centennial Exposition at Nashville 1896; commission on staff as Capt. of late Gen. John F.
