ANDERSON, Hugh Crump, <\/strong>banker; born McNairy Co., Tenn., Feb. 2, 1851; Scotch-Irish descent; son of William Tayler<\/strong> and Mahala (Wisdom) ANDERSON<\/strong>; father\u2019s occupation, farmer, merchant; paternal grandparents, Thomas <\/strong>and Mary (Davis) ANDERSON; <\/strong>maternal grandparents, James <\/strong>and Susan (Seargent) WISDOM; <\/strong>educated at West Tennessee College, Jackson, Tenn., and Cumberland University, Lebanon, graduated from latter Law department with B. L. degree in 1873; entered the practice of law in early life at Jackson, Tenn.; married three times, first, Helen BOND<\/strong>, Nov. 1876, second, Emma BURDETTE<\/strong>, May, 1889, third, Lena MYERS<\/strong>, Sept., 1895; member Elks, Masons, and K. P. ; Democrat; served two years as City Attorney of Jackson, Tenn., 1874-1875; Mayor 1884; later fifteen years as Mayor of Jackson, 1893-1908; member of Legislature of Tenn., 1879, also 1881; Tenn. Com. To Louisiana Purchase Exposition, 1904; Election Commissioner of Madison Co., Director of Tenn. Centennials, 1896; served as Asst. U. S.
