SEAVEY, Hial Paul, <\/strong>Postmaster, farmer and real estate dealer; born Pomfret, Vt., May 21, 1842; English descent; son of Isaac <\/strong>and Rebecca (Paul) SEAVEY; <\/strong>father\u2019s occupation, farmer; paternal grandparents Edmund <\/strong>and Sarah (Smith) SEAVEY; <\/strong>maternal grandparents Hial<\/strong> and Mary (Stevens) PAUL; <\/strong>received academic education in public schools of Vermont, Green Mountain Institute and Royalton Academy, completed academic course in 1860; began his business career as a farmer in Vermont, later taught school; enlisted in 12th<\/sup> Vermont Infantry 1862; then entered the photographic business, moving to Columbia, Tenn., in 1868; and to Iron City 1890; is engaged in farming and real estate business; president of Southern Tennessee Development & Mining Co., secretary and manager Iron City Co., Iron City, Tenn.; married Louise G. Strachaner <\/strong>Dec. 31, 1868; member Stainless Lodge No. 580, F. & A. M., Iron City, Tenn., Lafayette Chapter No. 3, Columbia, Tenn.; Past Master, present Secretary Stainless Lodge, Past Chancellor Myrtle Lodge K. of P.
