NEAS, Luna Lafayette<\/strong>, public official; born Cocke Co., Tenn., March 30, 1862; German descent; son of George and Sally (Renner) NEAS<\/strong>; father\u2019s occupation farmer; paternal grandparents Michael and Sarah (Bower) NEAS<\/strong>; maternal grandparents William and Magdaline (Gabel) RENNER<\/strong>; had no opportunity to go to school but educated himself by studying hard by the light of the pine knot at home; his early life was devoted to farming and later he entered educational work; married S. M. RADER<\/strong> Nov. 20, 1884; taught school for twenty-four years in succession through the fall and winter and farmed through the summer; began his career in reduced circumstances but now has large real estate interests in Greene Co. Tenn.; former justice of the peace of the 3d Dist.
