(Goodloe) NANCE<\/strong>; received country school education, the completion of which was prevented by entrance into the Civil war; he served two years in Seventh Tenn., Calvary, C.S.A., under command of <strong>Gen. N.B. FORREST;<\/strong> he entered the army at the age of 18, and after close of the war took up work on a farm, one year after which clerked in a store for three years, when he enetered the mercantile business on his own account; conducted mercantile business at Alamo for many years until 1896; since then he has been interested in farming and banking; was made president of the Bank of Alamo, which position he now holds; married <strong>Mollie E.
