GRAHAM, John Patton<\/strong>, educator; born Pennington Gap, Va., Oct. 26, 1869; Scotch-Irish and English descent; son of John Patton<\/strong> and America (Pennington) GRAHAM<\/strong>; father\u2019s occupation physician; paternal grandparents Henry<\/strong> and Mary (Russell) GRAHAM<\/strong>; maternal grandparents Thomas<\/strong> and Mary (Smith) PENNINGTON<\/strong>; educated in the public schools of Va., and Emory & Henry College, Va., and Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn.; graduated from Emory & Henry College with degree A. B., June 7, 1893; in early life he worked on farm; after graduation he became Principal Robeline (La.), High School 1893-4, then became student in Vanderbilt University 1894-5, Co-Principal Hamburg (Ark.) High School 1895-6, Principal of Culleoka (Tenn.)
