W.<\/strong> and <strong>Elizabeth (Bradshaw) GORDON<\/strong>; paternal grandparents <strong>Chapman<\/strong> and <strong>Charity (King) GORDON<\/strong>; maternal grandparents <strong>William<\/strong> and <strong>Elizabeth (Stubblefield) BRADSHAW<\/strong>; educated in local schools; graduated from Old Jackson college as valedictorian June, 1858; private Confederate army, and served under <strong>ARMSTRONG<\/strong> and <strong>VAN DORN<\/strong>; wounded and captured June 4, 1863 at Franklin, Tenn., etc.; married first <strong>Mary Lenoir FRANKLIN<\/strong>, of Miss., March 1878; married second <strong>Matilda MAGRUDER <\/strong>July 1899; Free Mason and Knight Templar; one time Whig, afterward Democrat; in 1870 elected to the Tennessee Legislature from Maury, Williamson and Lewis counties; elder Southern Presbyterian church.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>City:\u00a0 Columbia GORDON, William Bradshaw, lawyer; born near Columbia, Tenn., July 23, 1839; Scotch-Irish descent; son of Geo.
