(Fausett) GALLOWAY<\/strong>; Scotch, Irish, and English descent; educated country schools and at Jackson College, Columbia, Tenn.; married <strong>Elizabeth R. SMITH<\/strong>, February 4, 1866; member K. of P.; Representative of Maury County in the Fifty-fifth and Fifty-sixth General Assemblies (lower house) of the State of Tennessee; entered the Confederate service as private of Company E., First Tennessee Cavalry (<strong>WHEELER<\/strong>), in 1864, and was paroled at Charlotte, N. C., in May, 1865; served with (Joe WHEELER&#8217;s Cavalry) in Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina until surrendered by <strong>Gen. JOHNSON<\/strong> in 1865; supported the Pendleton bill and all temperance legislation in both sessions of the Legislature under which he served; in addition to farming he has owned Nashville &amp; Decatur Railroad stock, stock in B. &amp; L. Association, and at present owns bank stock; member Cumberland Presbyterian Church and adhered to the Union in the union with the U. S. A.
