{"id":14223,"date":"2014-07-30T20:44:13","date_gmt":"2014-07-31T01:44:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/whos-who\/?p=14223"},"modified":"2023-06-15T21:36:37","modified_gmt":"2023-06-16T02:36:37","slug":"sarah-jane-grubb-hash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tngenweb.org\/whos-who\/sarah-jane-grubb-hash\/","title":{"rendered":"HASH, Sarah Jane Grubb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sarah Jane, daughter of Jackson and Martha <strong>GRUBB<\/strong>, was born March 3, 1870, and in the early morning of October 16<sup>th<\/sup>, 1938 in the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.L. <strong>PAISLEY<\/strong>, of Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, passed away into life Eternal.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mrs. <strong>HASH<\/strong> was converted in early life, and united with the Methodist Church, of which she remained a loyal and consistent member until death.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On August 30, 1891 she was united in marriage with Rev. Jones Foster <strong>HASH<\/strong>, beloved member of Holston Conference, with whom she dwelt in perfect accord until God in His infinite wisdom saw fit to call the spirit of His trusted servant, her husband, back to the Courts of Heaven.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Unto this union were born six children, two of whom died in infancy. The eldest son, James Fielder, died at the very beginning of what would undoubtedly have been a noteworthy career in the field of Journalism.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Those who survive to mourn the departure of a sainted mother are Mrs. Samuella <strong>PAISLEY<\/strong>, who ministered to her during her latter days; Joseph Stubblefield <strong>HASH<\/strong>, Dallas, Texas; and Embree R. <strong>HASH<\/strong> of Camden, N.C. Neither of the sons, due to distance and illness, was able to be present. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Melvin <strong>GRUBB<\/strong>, Demorest, Ga.; A.N. <strong>GRUBB<\/strong>, Grant, Va.; O.M. <strong>GRUBB<\/strong>, Kennedy, N.Y.; Dr. A.B. <strong>GRUBB<\/strong>, Cripple Creek, Va., and Miss Lillian <strong>GRUBB<\/strong> of Demorest, Ga. in addition to six grandchildren.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">No lengthy eulogy is needed for one, who for the greater part of three score years and ten, lived a life of faithful service to God and man. \u00a0Possessed of an intellect far above the average, and having exceptional educational advantages in early life, she was well fitted for the life of a minister\u2019s wife. Left at an early age a widow with the responsibility of rearing and educating children, she bravely assumed the task, and succeeded remarkably well.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Life with its sorrows, its cares and responsibilities held no terrors for her, because she placed her trust in Him, who is the source of all strength and help. When the evening shadows of life\u2019s ebbing day gathered around, and her physical body was racked with pain, she had access to a throne of Grace sufficient for her.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the Methodist cemetery at Grant, Va. beside the body of her beloved husband, she was placed, to sleep until the morning of the general Resurrection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 When Peace like a river, attendeth my way,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 When sorrows like sea billows roll;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It is well, it is well with my soul.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 And Lord haste the day when the faith shall be sight,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The clouds be rolled back as a scroll,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The trump shall re-sound and the Lord shall descent,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Even so, it is well with my soul.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>K.
