In Sumner Co., Tenn., in 1861, promoted to Major, Lieut.-Col. and Colonel commanding brigade at close of war in 1865, and served a short while as Inspector General; Democrat; former Senator in State Legislature from Davidson and Wilson Counties, Tenn.; Asst.
