Feb. 25, 1845; Scotch-Irish descent; son of <strong>William Martin and Matilda (Wallace) YOUNG<\/strong>; father\u2019s occupation tanner, bank cashier and farmer; paternal grandparents <strong>James and Elizabeth (Draper) YOUNG<\/strong>; maternal grandparents <strong>Jack and Elizabeth (Simpson) WALLACE<\/strong>; educated at Sparta, Tenn.; early occupation tanner and farmer; entered the mercantile business at Sparta, Tenn., and continued in same thirty years; served four years in Co. \u201cC\u201d 41st regiment C. S. A., and was captured at Ft.
