M. I. O. O. F.; Democrat; formerly Assistant Postmaster at Indian Springs, Tenn., where he served four years; is Chairman Democratic Executive Committee of Sullivan Co., appointed Sept., 1906, reappointed Sept., 1910; was in mercantile business in Indian Springs, Tenn. from 1902-06, as member of the firm of Miller & Barger; active in lodge work, represented Blountville Masonic lodge in State Grand Lodge Jan., 1910; represented Indian Springs Lodge I. O. O.
