William Thomas, <\/b>minister; born Wheat, Roane County, Tenn., October 8, 1861; Scotch-Irish descent; son of Jacob B. <\/b>and Nancy Ann (Magill) RODGERS; <\/b>graduated Millikin University, A.B., 1889; Lebanon Theological Seminary, B.D., 1891; Union Theological Seminary of New York, B.D., 1892; Roane College, D.D., 1906; Cumberland University, D.D., 1907; married Miss Eula HUNTER <\/b>of Bell Buckle, June 12, 1895; member <\/b>A. F. & A. M., K. of P. and J. O. U. A. M., Beta Theta Pi; became member of the Salem Presbytery of the Missouri Synod September 5, 1880; honorary member of the Twentieth Tennessee Regiment and Rutger\u2019s Calvary, Confederate army, having been elected by unanimous vote of surviving members; Colonel in Uniform Rank K. of P.; ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church, U. S. A.; served as pastor of the Lucas Avenue Presbyterian Church, St. Louis; First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Knoxville and Grace Presbyterian Church of Nashville, having been pastor of last named church for past twelve years; has traveled in Canada and Europe, and served on many committees of his church.<\/p>\n
