WILLIAMS, John Sneed, cotton broker; born Memphis, Tenn., Oct. 25, 1869; English descent; son of J.J. and Arra R. (Watkins) WILLIAMS; educated in Memphis, Tenn.; began his career as an employe [sic] of a railroad; married Edith REID, April 3, 1895; member DeSoto Lodge, Chickasaw Club, Country Club and Business Men’s Club; President of Memphis Cotton Exchange, and President of Exchange Building Co.; member of Presbyterian church.
