Howard, lawyer; born Princeton, Ill., Nov. 13, 1859; son of Uriah James and Jane (Cook) TRIMBLE; father’s occupation, farmer; paternal grandparents Matthew and Lydia (Thatcher) TRIMBLE, maternal grandparents Caleb and Lucy (Clapp) COOK; graduated from Princeton (Ill.) High school, receiving classic diploma, in 1879; in early life he was law reporter; married Lida Elizabeth COBBLE, Sept. 28, 1886; Republican; was Republican candidate for Judge of the Supreme Court of Tenn. in 1902; delegate to National Republican convention in 1904; candidate for U.S. District Judge Western District of Tenn. in 1906; attorney for various railroads in Memphis for 23 years.
