TISDALE, Lew

TISDALE, Lew, business man; born Covington, Tenn., Feb. 13, 1869; moved to Memphis when he was thirteen years of age and learned the plumber’s trade with the supply house of J.W.X. Browne; after serving his apprenticeship he remained with Mr. Browne for several years, but in 1892 went into business as junior member of the firm of Couillins & Tisdale; two years later he formed a partnership with E.L. Rawlings under firm name of Rawlings & Tisdale, which continued until 1899, when he purchased his partner’s interest and founded the house of Lew Tisdale & Co., and at present he is general manager of same; member of Business Men’s Club, Menasha Hunting Club, I.O.O.F. and B.P.O.E.; he is also a 32 degree Mason, a Knight Templar, a Noble of Mystic Shrine, and a member of the Baptist church.
