SURBER, Benjamin Aaron, merchant-farmer; born Madison, Ind., Feb. 28, 1854; German descent; son of John and Rebecca M. (Penn) SURBER; father farmer; educated at Madison, Ind.; married Eliza J. ROBINSON, Dec. 27, 1883; was a timberman in early life; Democrat; member Baptist church; was elected a justice of the peace in 1908; was defeated 1910 for floterial representative from Tipton and Lauderdale Cos., by the Hon. P. B. LANIER, a young lawyer of Covington.
