T. and Amanda (Doss) SMITH; father’s occupation, farmer; paternal grandparents, John Y. and Leona (Shanks) SMITH, maternal grandparents, John P. and Lucretia (Threat) DOSS; graduated from Cumberland University, June 1889; was a farmer in early life, and has been engaged in the practice of law nineteen years; local attorney for Tenn. Central R. R. Co., vice-president Bank of Watertown, and director in Lebanon and Sparta Turnpike Co,; married Sue LOUIS, Dec. 29, 1892; Democrat; member of State Legislature 1891-92; member of Missionary Baptist church.
