TOWERS, St. Stephens N. B., Mar. 20, 1885; Ex-President of Manufacturers’ and Producers’ Association, Knoxville, Tenn.; Ex-President of Post C. Travellers Protective Association; served three years in English army (Volunteers) 1876-1879; landed in Halifax, N. S., April 8, 1882; worked in Canada and Northern States as Millwright for two years; located in Knoxville, Tenn., Oct. 1884; did business as mill builder and machinist, firm name W. J. Savage and Co; later Savage & Tyler, incorporated as W. J. Savage Co., in 1909; manufacturers of machinery & dealers in mill supplies; member Episcopal church.
