NANTS, Rupert A., wholesale produce merchant; born Henry Co., Tenn., Sept. 3, 1873; French-English descent; son of Jas. T. and Mary E. NANTS; his father was a farmer; paternal grandparents Peter and Martha (Wilson) NANTS, maternal grandparents, Thomas and Bettie (Futrell) POYNER; received education in the country schools; married Ruby A. PRITCHETT, May 23, 1895; in early life he was a farmer; at the age of ten years, upon the death of his father he began the support of his mother and two younger brothers; he is at present operating ten stores; Democrat; member Missionary Baptist church.
