ROBERTS, Paul, insurance; born Nashville, Tenn., February 24, 1869; English-Irish descent; son of Albert and Edith (Scott) ROBERTS; father’s occupation, proprietor and managing editor of Nashville American; educated Nashville (Tenn.) public schools and law school in Alabama; began his career as Clerk in railway office; passed through various departments and became Auditor and Treasurer; married Henrietta BERNEY, of Mobile, Ala.; member of Hermitage, and Country Clubs; Democrat, Independent; served as Lieutenant Alabama State Militia; member Episcopal Church; President Independent Life Insurance Company; Vice-President of Western and Atlantic Fire Insurance Company; Director Hermitage National Bank, etc.
