PRATT, Henry M., manufacture; born Prattville, Ala., May 20, 1877; English descent; son of Merrill E. and Julia A. (Smith) PRATT; paternal grandparents Edward and Dorcas (Peavey) PRATT; maternal grandparents Samuel P. and Adelaide (Allen) SMITH; educated University of Ala., finished four years special course in 1896; began his career as clerk in hardware store, later became clerk in Pratt Gin Co., of Prattville, Ala., which position he held several years; in 1900 moved to Memphis, Tenn., and became manager of local office at Memphis of Continental Gin Co., to 1902, then organized Norton-Pratt Co., manufacturing agents, Memphis, and became president of that company until 1911, since that time has been engaged in manufacturing business firm of L. B. Craig Manufacturing Co., Memphis, Tenn.; director in National City Bank, former director in Highland Heights Real Estate Co., now vice-president of same; married Lilla Y. FRANKLIN, April 26, 1905; member of F. & A. M., (32d degree, K. T. and Shrine), Business Men’s Club, Country Club and Chickasaw Club; Democrat; member of M. E. Church, South.
