POWER, Thomas E., merchant; born in Franklin Co., Tenn., Jan. 31, 1857; Irish descent; son of Nathaniel T. and Elizabeth (Acklin) POWER; father’s occupation, Presbyterian minister; educated in the local schools of Franklin; entered the mercantile business in 1878; in 1892-3 engaged in the wholesale notion business Nashville, Tenn., returned to Huntland, Tenn., in 1894 and entered the mercantile business, where he has since been engaged; married Virginia MOYERS May 15, 1878; member Masonic Lodge No. 565, Huntland, Tenn., and has filled many offices in same; Democrat; has been Postmaster at Huntland, Tenn., for past nine years; member of the Presbyterian church.
