Bernard J. CHUTS; educated in Memphis (Tenn.) public schools and private school of his father, Prof. Jacob J. PERES; entered the brokerage business in early life; member Masons, Scottish Rite, Shrine, Elks, Y. M. H. A., Rex Club, and I. O. B. B.; Democrat; first president of Y. M. H. A., and one of the founders of the Jewish Spectator; formerly Venerable Master Mispah Lodge of Perfection Scottish Rite Masons; member of firm of Jacob J. Peres & Co., established 1859; member of the Jewish faith.
