Ashland City — PEGRAM, William Maston, farmer; born Davidson Co., Tenn., March 22, 1843; English descent; son of John P. and Permina (Ussery) PEGRAM; received common school education; joined the Confederate army in 1861 and continued in the service until the latter part of the year 1863; elected magistrate in 1879, and served one term; formerly engaged in the mercantile business; married twice, first to Ellen GALLAHER, 1864, second Mattie A. WILLIAMS, 1882; member Christian church; Democrat.
