OLIVER, Alonzo B., physician and surgeon; born in Louisiana, Jan. 7, 1863; English and French descent; son of Benjamin L. and Narcissa (TUCKER) OLIVER; father’s occupation, merchant and planter; educated Memphis, Tenn., and University of Ark., Fayetteville, graduated Memphis, Tenn. M. D., 1893; in early life was merchant, planter and interested in live stock and timbered lands; married Maggie GILDEN, Dec. 12, 1893; member Elks and W. O. W.; Democrat; surgeon to City Hospital for five years; member of Baptist church; engaged in the practice of medicine and surgery and interested in planting, trades in real estate and timber lands, etc.
