F, 21st Tennessee Cavalry; surrendered at Gainsville May 11, 1865; with Forrest; admitted to bar 1870; special writer Nashville Sun and other papers; associated with Jere Baxter in promotion of Tennessee Central; past attorney for Tennessee Central Railroad Company; member Episcopal Church; was candidate for Chancellor, 1878, before Democratic convention, had majority and was defeated by two-thirds rule.
