What did he attribute the Haun Surname to? Scotch-Irish?

Hi Monte – could be? The bio notes that he has Scotch-Irish, English and Dutch ancestry so who knows? Are you doing research or related to him? I noticed a few researchers with information about him on Ancestry.com if that is of help?
Some Haun / Horners from now Whitesburg, TN moved to Milan, TN. Those Hauns were in Shenandoah Co, VA during the Rev War.
The conventional wisdom is that the Surname is German, but I’m not convinced. Some Hauns come from Dutch Haan, de Haan etc and some from Scots Haun (Hand). Judging from the Given names of the Virginia Hauns, I like the Scots, Scots-Irish.

Monte Haun
