HART, W.L. (Rev.) (Mrs.)

On Sunday afternoon, October 15, 1939 the beautiful spirit of our beloved friend, and the wife of our faithful pastor, Rev. W. L. HART, slipped away to be with Jesus.

Mrs. Hart was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 17, 1892, and was the daughter of the late R. L. YEAMAN, and Mrs. E. L. YEAMAN. She had just returned from the session of the Annual Conference on Monday, attended the Ladies’ Aid Society on Tuesday—full of enthusiasm and HOPE, to do more this year than she had been able to do before. We were so happy to have our Pastor and his BELOVED wife returned to us for another year–only to have her in one Ladies’ Aid meeting after conference.

She suffered much from Wednesday until Sunday afternoon when God CALLED and she answered—”I am ready”—for if there was ever anyone prepared to meet her Maker, Mrs. Hart was. We had only known her for three short years, but in her short stay with us, she had won all our hearts. She was loved by all, and the Church and Ladies’ Aid Society will miss her faithful and helpful service and devotion—on and on. We felt the need of her so much, but God is GOOD and doeth all things well.

She was a loving wife, a faithful mother, a friend to all, and so upright and unselfish in Sacrificial Service that she never thought of self, but always of others. She was a great Believer in PRAYER. And many are the times when we have heard her pray so earnestly for her husband in his recent illness, and Spencer Lynn, her baby boy so dear to all our hearts. God HEARS prayers like she prayed.

Mrs. Hart wanted to live in a way to encourage other people in RIGHT living. She instilled in her children the highest Christian Ideals. She has left to all of us a Christian Heritage that cannot be estimated, which will constantly stand out as a guiding star, ever leading us on in the work of the Master. Her beautiful life has inspired in us a desire to press onward and upward until we shall meet her in that Eternal City where God shall wipe all tears from our eyes.

She died peacefully and went home to Heaven with the full assurance of her friends and the favor of the Almighty upon her. Mrs. Hart has been promoted prom Grace to Glory. We pray that God will raise up many like her to replenish the ranks of the Lord on earth.

“Sleep on beloved sleep, and take thy rest,

Lay down thy head upon the Savior’s breast, We love thee well, but Jesus loves thee best.”

FAREWELL—
