C., Nov. 9, 1866; Dutch descent; son of Alfred J. and Lydia (Bost) FOX; father was a clergyman and physician; educated at University of Va.; University of New York City; graduated from the latter with degree M. D. March 6, 1888; married Francis Dickens MARSHALL Feb. 6, 1890; was President East Tenn., Medical Society 1896, Vice-Pres. Tennessee Medical Association, 1903; Surgeon Sou. Railway 1900; is at present Councilor 1st District Tenn., State Medical Association (term expires 1812 /sic/); Democrat; was appointed Major Surgeon 3rd Regiment N. G. S. T. 1888 by Gov. TAYLOR and was Mayor of Greeneville, Tenn., 1906-1907; member of the Lutheran Church.
