(Brown) EWELL; paternal grandparents Joshua and Mary Bryan (Blount) EWELL; maternal grandparents Anthony and Nancy (Carlyle) BROWN; educated at public schools of Madison Co.; married Jimmie E. MOSS, March 2, 1895; member of Knights of Maccabees; Democrat; serving second term as Mayor of Dyersburg, began business career as bookkeeper; later entered wholesale grain business; interested in real estate in Dyersburg, and farm and timber lands in Dyer Co.; stockholder and director in banks and other local enterprises; member Christian Church.
